A poster I designed for Eric Ridenour's film Journey of the Spark. Please support the film by spreading the word about it. As one of the vector artists for the film, I'm very thrilled to work with lots of talented people in this production.
Hello Haylizbeth, I am saddened by the news that animation work for Journey of the Spark has been shut down. That's got to be disappointing for anyone who put effort into it. I'm sorry the project couldn't come to completion. Are you involved in the audio drama that's going to replace it?
I am looking forward to this film, but how is it ever going to be finished? Hasbro sends out C&D letters on even short stories on youtube, I am just wondering if this will be completed without a lawsuit. Well here's hoping it does.
I really don't have a lot of high hopes for this project, all the characters seem like they've been Merriweathered by ten times. Discord is too evil, Celestia is too overbearing and expects too much out of Twilight...
I understand where your feelings come from since very little has been revealed about the film. I can't say anything more, but after reading the script several times and seeing the large amount of time and care put into the film already, I really don't think you'll be disappointed. Keep in mind that this film is going a bit darker than the original series, but nothing too dark. Think Secret of NIMH. Just remember to keep an open mind
I dunno, A lot of what I've seen in the trailer has disappointed me. Just thrown in my face another reason to dislike Celestia and the rest of the cast when The Royal Wedding episode failed to do that. A lot of them came off as rather too hard and too rough on Twilight. Having unlikable characters from the start really doesn't engage me into the story.
Plus I wasn't really as fortunate to grow up with Secret of NIHM.
Keep in mind that the trailer is outdated and no longer matches the draft of the script they're going with. Also keep in mind what the plot is about: Twilight makes a mistake so horrible, she feels she can never be forgiven; her friends are journeying to the ends of the earth to find her because they DO forgive her. Don't judge "what" they do before understanding "why" they do it.
Hey, Director of the film here. The trailer you saw is extremely outdated by this point. The film's script underwent a massive rewrite to address some of the issues that we had with the script as well as what others were too. The film is nowhere near equivalent to what you saw. The film is in good hands. We're working hard to make the best film we possibly can.
